Serabut
Can I not have all this to read and do?......

......Can I just 'have to' read this book instead? :0)

Honestly, I would so prefer becoming a 'Domestic Goddess' than an actuary right now. *sigh*

P/S : Credits to Alia S for the book recommendation. Thanks to H for the lovely de-stressing gift. :0)

When I was around 9 or 10, while browsing through ASTRO's channels, I somehow ended up watching a recorded performance of Riverdance on HBO. I guess their consistency and super-feet skills attracted me to stay on that channel and watch. As a little girl, I stared at the TV screen in awe, thinking how can their feet move so fast?

One day some 5 years later, I saw an ad about Riverdance coming to Malaysia. Despite everyone else being clueless on what Riverdance was, I was excited! I really wanted to go watch them live! Lucky me, my birthday was around the corner, and Mama bought tickets for me as a present. Auntie Sue teman-ed me to the huge Bukit Jalil Stadium, and we were together amazed. Everything was so synchronised and perfect.

Last December, while purchasing tickets for Jason Mraz's upcoming concert, I stumbled upon a link for a Riverdance show here in London. Staring at the link, I felt obliged to relive my childhood memories and so I bought tickets. (Yeah, my life sort of revolves around concerts and performances.) So, yesterday, I dragged Hadi to the Hammersmith Apollo to watch the ever popular Irish dance troupe perform once again.

And it was fantastic. Their skills were amazing. The dancers, the violinist, the saxophonist, the flutist. Amazing, seriously amazing. At the end of the show, the whole crowd gave them a standing ovation. They deserved it. Magnificent.

I wonder if I'm too old to start learning tap. :0P

Chris Martin : COLDPLAY

Thanx Alyaa for rocking it out with me. :0)

P/S : Yerp, we were THAT close. If only I was a few inches taller, I could've shook Brandon and Chris's hands. Haha.

War Child sent me a thank you e-mail :

Thanks for being a War Child Hero last night

“This is going to be the greatest encore you'll ever see!”

– Chris Martin

In the early hours of this morning The Killers were joined by Chris Martin, Bono and Gary Barlow to perform an epic encore of 'All These Things That I've Done'. It capped off an amazing night and we're really glad you were able to share it with us. We're also enormously grateful to all the artists involved – their wonderful generosity and support for War Child has been truly humbling.

"Tonight was such an honour, it was one of the most exciting gigs we've ever played"
– Brandon Flowers

"We couldn't have imagined that we'd make this work. The fact that the money raised from tickets have enabled War Child to extend the reach of their work is astonishing."
– Chris Martin

"War Child's work is vital and being able to have a moment with Brandon and Chris tonight is a salute to an awesome night for them. U2 love Elbow's new version of 'Running To Stand Still' for War Child's 'Heroes' album. They deserve all their success.”
– Bono

Weekend in Paris.. and more!
Thursday : 12th February 2009

Dear Diary,

Last week, we both decided to not have plans for both V-day and my 21st due to lack of funds. How sad ey? It wasn't a big deal to me though, but I didn't really want my birthday to be left uncelebrated, so I thought of cooking dinner for a few of my friends on Sunday.

But then, Hadi being the white liar that he is, told me today that we are indeed going somewhere this weekend. He asked me to pack some clothes, and be prepared to leave by 3pm tomorrow. I got excited of course! Many questions popped up in my head in an instant - where is he bringing me? what should I pack? how's the weather there? Seeing that I was 'over excited', Hadi tried to calm me down. He asked me not to put my hopes up, because the place we are going to is not as exciting as I was imagining it to be. He told me that the place is just a few hours away, and he hoped that what is most important to me is not the location, but the experience. So, fine. I toned down my excitement, and looked forward to spending the weekend away from London. Woopdeedoo!

Friday : 13th February 2009

(1.45pm)

H : Where are you? We're late! We should leave now!

Y : I'm at home. Okay okay, I'll see you at the tube station. Where are we heading to?

H : I can't tell you now.. I'll tell you later. I'll see you in a bit.

(2.20pm - In the eastbound Circle Line Train, somewhere near Baker Street)

H : I takut tak sempat la...

Y : I thought you said we're leaving at 3pm? We still have a lot of time! Where are we leaving from?

H : Urrmm... we're leaving from Euston. And I think we have to be there by 2.30pm. Cepatlaaaa traaiin.

Y : Why 2.30pm? Euston? You mean we have to walk from Euston Square? Hmmm, kalau sampai lambat sikit, takpe kot. We are only 2 stops away anyway.

H : Nooo. Urmmmm, actually I think I have to give you something now la. I sort of lied about something.

Y : Huh?

H : (Hands tickets in a passport.) We're not leaving from Euston....

Y : (Looks at tickets; sees the words 'Paris'.) Hey, apa ni? We're going to Paris?? I tak bawak passport! Asal you tak pesan suruh I bawak passport?!

H : Bukak la passport tu.....

Y : (Flips to the passport's first page; saw own photo, and had the biggest smile anyone could possibly make!) Oh My God! This is my passport! You stole my passport!! We're leaving for Parisssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

H : Yeah, we're going to Paris! I didn't want to tell you we're leaving from Kings Cross because it'd be obvious. Ynow, everyone else knows except you. Even Lukman knows, we're meeting him there. Haha.

Thanks for the surprise holiday Encik Hadi Abdillah. :0) I had a joyous time being a tourist in Paris with you! We both have been to Paris before, just not together. Nonetheless, it was a splendid weekend, and definitely the best birthday present ever. :0)

Thanks Mr Lukman for komplot-ing with Encik Hadi. Thanks for being our host. Paris was lovely. :0) Oh, but no thanks for picking up a fight with me last week just because you were scared you might blurt out Hadi's plans. That was very mean. Blergh.

We arrived in London around 7.00pm and I had dinner plans with Opu at 8.00pm at Satay House. So the both of us rushed back home to put our bags before meeting Opu. Sampai rumah, I opened the door, and.......

SURPRIIISSEE!!

Around 15 of my friends were at home, waiting for my arrival! I had cupcakes baked by Alia Ishak, and Apai baked Apple Crumble for meee!! Weeeeeee!!! After the 'Happy Birthday' song, and after blowing the candles, we all went to Satay House for dinner.

Human
These last few months of my final year are horrible! The topics taught in class are so much harder to properly understand, the workload is craaazy, and the weather is so stoopid! It's so sunny outside, yet it's so freaking cold!!!!!

Aduih.

Alhamdulillah, amidst all these ridiculous happenings, I have my comfort zone - music. I've been enjoying my days listening to Coldplay's Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends and The Killer's Day & Age over and over again. The thought of getting to hear them live in a few days is keeping me sane. Haha.

"Are we human or are we dancers?
My sign is vital, my hands are cold
And I'm on my knees looking for the answer
Are we human or are we dancers?"

I miss being a dancer.

Lost+
"Just because I'm losing
Doesn't mean I'm lost
Doesn't mean I'll stop
Doesn't mean I will cross

Just because I'm hurting
Doesn't mean I'm hurt
Doesn't mean I didn't get what I deserve
No better and no worse."

Oh I have so much running through my mind. Work, money, responsibilities. Oh so much.

I'm not lost.

Please God, help me convince myself that the statement is true.

I wish I was home. *sigh*

Life in Technicolor ii

It magically snowed heavily in London tonight. Heavy snow in the City of London in the month of February isn't really something normal. Everyone in the city was running around in the snow, making snowballs with their bare hands, taking numerous pictures with their mobiles...

...including these two bums :

Happy Snow Day everyone!
