Women.
"Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give."

Took this from Syaleen's blog. Meaningful to some, meaningless to others. But somehow, it touched some part of my emotional heart. Just one more point I'd like to add, this list doesn't mean men are bad.

Wait. Did I just say that? What's gotten into me?? Sheesh.

Reflection
Today was a wonderful day.

I went to all my classes, and I finally met up with Uncle Zaini to retrieve Papa's camera. Yay! Yameen has a camera again! Thank you sooo much Papa! =0) Now I can capture pictures myself. No need to depend on anyone. Alia Sidek, Opu, Alia Ishak, - thank you so much for sharing pictures in previous events! I hope I'll make good use of my new camera from now on. =0P

After meeting up with Uncle Zaini at Mawar, I didn't feel like going back to my room. I wanted to hang out somewhere. I texted Aliya Mustapha, hoping I could drop by her place since I haven't met up with her for quite some time. Unfortunately for me, she did not have her phone with her at that moment, so she didn't reply me. I wanted to text some other people, hoping they would be free to hang. But then after much thinking, I decided to not bother them on a Friday afternoon. It was the beginning of a weekend, they needed rest.

So, I decided to spend quality time with my thoughts. I walked alone from Edgware Road to Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens with my Sony Walkman in my ears. Opu called somewhere while I was walking, but she didn't stay long. She had a performance to prepare for. So, I ventured through Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens alone with my thoughts and my music. (P/S : I was not sure whether I was walking through Hyde Park, or Kensington Gardens, or both which explains the '/'). I had a great time. Believe it or not, I had a smile on my face the whole time I was walking in the park. I was humming to the music, watching the ducks + swans + birds moving around. It was really nice to spend time in the park, walking alone. I did not feel lonely. =0)

I always think a lot, everyone tells me that. I am not sure whether it is a curse, or a blessing. Bahh. I don't care. I do it anyway.

Most of the time, we try to not be selfish, but most of us are. It's in us. Wait. We should be allowed to be selfish in certain situations, shouldn't we? Because obviously we have to love ourselves before loving anyone else. Our own needs should be at the top of the priority list. We should make ourselves happy first. Our feelings are the ones that matter the most. Why give up our true smile to allow someone else to be satisfied?

My opinion - Because making people happier makes us happier. All the sacrifices are worth it if we gain friends and not enemies. All the fake smiles will one day make a meaningful smile, yes it would. Feeling sad inside while others are happy is so much better than feeling happy while others feel disappointed. No matter how much it hurts now, it will feel so much better later. The only question is, how late is later? Truth be told, it doesnt matter.

Bottling up feelings may be a bad thing to the person bottling it all up. But it is done by choice. Let it be, and be glad that he/she is putting your feelings at the top of the list. He/she cares.

Just one thing. It would be great if she knows you care too.

Way Back Into Love
Check out the song and the lyrics on Alia's Blog. Click HERE.

It's our song. As in, me and Alia's song. Wait, not a song about me and Alia together, it's a song that both of us can relate to in two different situations. Fahamm? Hahahah.. =0P

BUT, I'm done being emotional, and 'depressed' and sad about my nonexistent 'significant other'. Baaahhh. This is my life. It's in my hands, innit? I should decide what to do with my life. I should decide what I want to feel everyday. I decide. I'm old enough to decide, I'm nineteen! =0D

Yesterday, I did my laundry. I cleaned my room. I organised my desk. I set out a plan to make myself be up-to-date with my studies. I called Papa + Mama + Apai + Aliaa. I unexpectedly mended a friendship with someone I'm supposed to 'hate'. And today, I went to all my classes. I watched the latest episode of Heroes. I listened to 'Way Back Into Love' over and over again without feeling down. Hahahahha!

It's my life. MINE. And I should be the one enjoying it. =0)

Oh and, someone please download 'Way Back Into Love' and send it to me PPPPLLLLEEEEAAASSSSEEEEE............

Post Birthday Blues.
I think I'm turning into Ally McBeal.

She has always hated her birthday. Everytime she gets a year older, she would just call-in sick, stay at home and stare out the window. She would spend the whole day thinkin about how empty or useless her life is. She even did this when she had THE boyfriend - Larry Paul.

Yes, I know I spent my birthday well. You could read about that in the previous post. And I am indeed very thankful to those who made it THE BEST birthday ever. Please don't think that I am being unappreciative. It's just that the week after that eventful day has been depressing, and the worse part about it is that I don't know why. Haih.

PROBLEM 1 : My body-clock is totally messed up. I've been sleeping for only 2/3 hours a day, and anyone who has been in the same dorm as me knows that I have never tolerated sleep deprivation. And the weird thing about this whole thing is that I don't get tired in the mornings. Macam mana ni? I can't make myself sleep at night, and I have all the energy I need during the day. Apakah?

PROBLEM 2 : My eating habits have gone hay-wire. I don't want to elaborate on that.

PROBLEM 3 : I've been having terrible mood-swings. I could be jumping and laughing on walls on one day, and then pull an ugly hateful face the day after. Sheesh.

PROBLEM 4 : I've been sooo lazy. The number of classes I missed these past few days is quite a handful. Sorry Alia. I don't know why I refuse to go to classes. Just not in the mood. =0(

PROBLEM 5 : My room is beyond being disoriented. It's utterly ugly. Everything is everywhere.

PROBLEM 6 : I don't have any dance classes this week. I am not able to express myself and let loose. =0(

PROBLEM 7 : Guy problems. Well, not much of a 'problem'. I've just been feeling emotional about some stuff. (P/S : Opu, I'm kinda taking the first four lines of the OkGo song to the heart.)

PROBLEM 8 : Weight issues. Haha. This will always be on my mind, because I will never get to where I want to be.

PROBLEM 9 : Missing everyone at home, especially Apai. I don't know why Apai in particular, but I miss Apai. Bongok la Apai.

PROBLEM 10 : The bigget problem. I don't want to do anything about all these problems. I refuse to even think about any possible solution to any of the issues I've mentioned above. Tak nak. Tanak fikir langsung.

Hish. I'm off to take a nice hot shower now. Let's hope that I can get my life back in order after cleansing myself.

"And it's alright, yeah I'll be fine
Don't worry 'bout this heart of mine
Just take your love and hit the road
There's nothing you can do or say
You're gonna break my heart anyway
So just leave the pieces when you go.."

Yameen turned 19!
This year was the best birthday celebration I've ever had.
The BEST.

It started on the 14th. Daddy and Mummy called and wished me when it was 12am of the 15th in Malaysia. Haha. How sweet. =0) And also, I received my first birthday present that day, which was from Zhixin! Zhixin's present to me was to belanja me tengok movie! We watched Music and Lyrics and all I can say is that the movie has a nice song. =0) (Whoever dapat download the song "Way back into Love" please send it to me..) After the movie, I went back to my room, minded my own business, and then suddenly my room phone rang. It was Lukman. I thought he called for a simple chat, but then the first line he said was, "Yameen, turun bawah. Sign me in." I was like, "WHAAATTT???? You're heree??!!?". Yes! Lukman surprised me! He came all the way from Annecy, France and appeared in front of my hall! Terkejut gilaaa!!!! Ahahahah!

We lepak kat Mawar, borak2 seperti biasa. And then, around 11-ish I went back to my room. I got a few testimonials and messages for my birthday. Nice. =0) And then, exactly at 12am, I had a knock on my door. I bukak-bukak je, I saw Kiran, Yifei, Guo Hao, LJ and Alia with two cute cakes! Yifei started spraying silly string on me, Alia hung a 'Happy Birthday' banner on my wall and I was speechless! =0) They sang me my brithday song, I blew the Y-A-M-S candles, and we ate cake and cookies! I was sooo happppyyy!! Terharu gila! Around that same time, people started calling, and more birthday messages popped up on my laptop screen... =0) It was great!

That night, I couldn't sleep. =0P I was too happy and merry, it was terribly hard for me to bring myself to bed! I probably slept around 4-ish sebab excited sangat. Haha! =0P The next morning, I woke up around 8-ish because there was a knock on my door, and I got a card! Thanx Ali. =0) I bangun awal2 tu, took my shower and prepared myself for MY day. =0) I had birthday plans with Opu - she was coming over from Bristol in the afternoon. But before Opu arrived, I went to Victoria to meet up with Ratih, Aliaa and Apai's friend who's here in the UK visiting her sisters. She passed Apai and Aliaa's birthday present to me. =0) Thank you so much Aliaa + Apai for the pretty locket. I like it very much! =0D

Opu arrived around 4-ish. We lepak my room jap, then went to Oxford Street to cari our Japanese foooddd!! The first delicacy we had was Beard Papa's Cream Puffs! Sedap gila babun la kaaann.. Bahagia gila makan..... I don't even remember the last time I ate it in Malaysia, let's just thank God there's a branch here in London. After the cream puffs, Opu and I continued walking, and found Hamleys. =0) And since this is in fact my last 'teen' year, I felt like being a kid again. And dudes, no matter what you say or how mature you think you are, if you're in a huge toy store with all kinds of toys around you, you can never stop smiling! It was super fun looking at toys again!! Best gilllaaa!! It brought back too many priceless memories - Barbie Dolls, Polly Pockets, My Little Pony, Animal Hospital, Trolls.... Hahaaa! Best Gila! Okay, after the cream puffs and the toys, Opu and I went to Piccadilly Circus and bought 3 huge packets of SUSHIIII!! Yahhhooo!!! We decided to eat them in Hyde Park, just to do something crazy on MY day. =0) Lukman joined us at Hyde Park, and we took wicked pictures! Hahah! Opu and I finally 'slept' in Hyde Park, which was sooooo coolll...

After all that, the three of us decided to walk to Bayswater, to have some Malaysian food at some Malaysian Restaurant Opu wanted to go to. The walk was quite far, but Opu insisted that we walk all the way konon-kononnya to walk off the food we ate that afternoon. We walked around 30-40 minutes kot, semata-mata nak pi C&R - a Msian Restaurant yg kawan Opu recommend. My feet was aching, coz I was wearing high-heeled boots, so I memang tak sabar nak pi sit down and makan. Masa sampai2 the restaurant, tiba-tiba...........

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YAMEEN,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!"

Alia was holding a cake with nineteen lit candles, around twenty-five of my friends sang me a birthday song, and I had a humungous smile on my face. I couldn't stop laughing and giggling, and jumping. =0) It was such a magical feeling. They had a surprise dinner for me! =0) Terharu Gilaaaaaaa.....

Apu gave me a photo of Michael Essien - a Chelsea football player, which had his autograph and a birthday wish to me! It looked cool seeing my name on that photo alongside the football player's autograph. Haha! Thanx a million Apu. It is indeed priceless. =0)

All of us, which were LJ, Vincent, Maggi, Yifei, Guo Hao, Kiran, Brandon, Ijat, Faisal, Mudha, Iyngaran, Omar, Nora, Mikel, Sharina, Apu, Alia Ishak, Fazril, Alia Sidek, Fara Alyaa, Opu, Luk and I, had a great time. =0) The food was nice, the place was cool, and the company of course was great. Thanks to all of you for making the dinner a very memorable one. Love each and every one of you to pieces. =0)

Oh wait. I still had one more surprise!

Faisal kept his promise! We made an exchange deal : I had to give him cookies which I baked, and he had to give me a cupcake on my birthday. I ingatkan dia dah lupa dah, coz he only brought the cupcake out when all of us were ready to leave the restaurant. Haha! Thanx Faisal.. You'll get your cookies soon, don't worry!

After dinner, Opu, Alia, Mudha, Luk and I went to Edgware to meet Neena! And of course, at Edgware, we shisha-ed! =0) It was fun to lepak2 dan borak2 kosong, again! Ahahah! =0P

We went back probably around 2/3-ish. =0) And, I think, my birthday as a whole was SPECTACULAR. =0) I really do love all of you who wished me directly, or on the phone, or through MSN, or through Friendster, or through Facebook, or through my blog here, or through your blog.. Haha! Sayang all of u!

Yameen's finally nineteen, dudes! Watch out! ;0)

Super-DUPER-Yameen
My weekend was beyond WICKED. Hahahah!

Opu arrived on Friday night, and we devoted ourselves to the kitchen the whole night! =0) We made seafood spaghetti for dinner, and then we made COOKIESSS! Yahoo! That was actually the first time I baked something sweet in my kitchen. FYI, Yameen used to ALWAYS bake at home. Whenever Papa or Mama or any of my brothers mengidam something, they'll request for me to bake it for them. Dulu kat rumah, punyala malas nak bake kalau depa mintak, but now I actually miss that huge oven at home. Oh well, nasib baik I ada oven kat sini. At least Opu and I managed to bake scrumptious cookiessss!

Ynow, because of the cold weather, it took ages for the butter to get to 'room temperatue', so we started baking late at night. And since the batter turned out to be banyak, we had to repeat the process of baking the cookies on the only two pans I had a lot of times. And then because of that, Opu and I only managed to finish baking at around 3/4 am. Annnd, we ended up with seven full tupperwares of coookkkkiiieeeessss!!! Ahahahha! Banyak gila. Thank God I had seven tupperwares to begin with, or else Opu and I had to stuff or full tummies with cookies in the middle of the night.

So, Friday night the both of us slept late. And we had to get up early the next morning, because I had to go to the Uni at 8am. I was going paintballing with City Uni's Malaysian Society on Saturday. =0) Paintballing was super FUN! The place we went to really had that 'war-army' feel because of the way the place was presented, and also because the 'war-zones' were super cun. Crawling through bushes with a paintball-gun in your hand is really super seronok! Tembak-tembak orang pon seronokkkkk! Ahahahha! Best gilaaa! More over, the place was muddy and wet and disgusting, but best gila! =0)

(Pictures stolen from Darren's Facebook Account! =0))

We paintballed from morning till 4 in the afternoon. Then, I had to rush back to my room for me and Opu to mandi. We were attending UCL's Malaysian Night! Opu and I bersiap sepantas kilat, then Mark - my coursemate who wanted to tag along to UCL's mnight came over, and the three of us rushed to Bloomsbury Theatre! The night was the bomb! But the after-party was better! Haha! After the performances, the whole bunch of us went to search for a nice spot to lepak. Mula-mula pi Farringdon, nak lepak minum milkshake. But then the tempat tak bagi the twenty-to-thirty of us to lepak situ ramai2 to only drink milkshakes, (if only there were mamaks in London to lepak ramai2 tengah2 malam. =0P), so Opu, Faisal, Mars and I decided to leave the group and pi lepak kat some kedai Arab shisha kat Edgware Road. We ordered some shisha and air, and then later Hadi, Kam and a whole lot more people joined us, and we lepak situ sampai the kedai tutup. It was fun to borak2 kosong with old and new faces. =0) Bessttt!

After we left the kedai Arab which was about 2/3 am, Opu, Faisal and I teman Mars balik Justin's place, and then the three of us walked to Oxford Circus to get our buses home. Sampai2 Oxford Circus, somehow instead of waiting for our buses at our respective stops, the three of us stood there in the middle of Oxford Street, and continued borak-ing. The three of us berdiri tengah2 malam tu in the cold, and kept on talking about God knows what, for God knows how long! Somehow none of us felt like going back home, and there were no kedai mamaks open for us to lepak in, =0P so we stood tengah2 jalan tu, and borak. Around 4/5 am, the rain started to pour down on us, and instead of rushing to find our buses home, we searched for some sort of covered space to continue lepak-ing. =0) The three of us found a nice spot in front of Topshop, and still continued borak-ing! Even in the cold! Hahahahahh!! PLUS, we actually berdiri berborak throughout the whole night, sampai tube station Oxford Circus bukak the next morning! Ahahahahha!! Gilaaa I tell youuu! I don't know how our bodies managed to tahan berdiri for hours through the cold weather. Around 7-ish, the three of us akhirnya headed back via tube. Sampai-sampai bilik je, Opu and I masuk duvet jadi kebab, only up to 12 o'clock sebab Opu nak balik Bristol.

Terima kasih kepada Opu kerana datang. Hope you get well soon, babe. =0P

Terima kasih kepada MSoc City Uni kerana organise the paintball trip.

Terima kasih kepada UCL kerana organise the menarik Malaysian Night.

SuperYameen
As you read in my previous post, I slept at 4am last night and woke up at 8am. Which meant I only had 4 hours of sleep. Having that little amount of rest yesterday, I must say I am indeed Superman's long lost sister after going through today. If I wasn't Superman's lost long relative, I would have died by now.

Waking up at 8am, I did some chores which should've been done a long time ago - vaccuming my room, filling up Opu's overnight form, arranging my HSBC and O2 bills, lalalalaaa.. Then, I went to class at 10am, finished at 11am. Right after that one hour class, Alia and I did a little grocery shopping at Angel. Mind you, walking to Angel was tiresome with the ghastly weather freezing our bones, but Alia and I had a lot of energy that early in the morning. So we didn't mind walking. I bought like, 5 full bags of groceries, which mainly consisted of ingredients for chocolate chip cookies, and food for myself which included milk, eggs, lalalalaa... Berat nak mampus okay. Haihh..

After getting back from Angel, I had roughly an hour to myself before going to my dance classes. There were three classes that day, which includes a street dance class for girls, a street dance class for everyone, and salsa. I went to all three. I'm a loyal member. =0P The first two classes were crazy, kena lompat sini, pusing sana.. It was terribly tiring. Thank God the salsa class wasn't that heavy, if not, I might've had to use my superpowers to keep me from fainting. =0P One thing I want to point out, all three classes lasted for three and a half hours. Lama gila la kan menggerakkan badan. Haihh..

And thennnn, Zhixin invited me to go swimming. I have been wanting to go swimming since my first day here in London, so despite being terribly tired, I followed him to Ironmonger Row Baths. They had a 30.5 metres long swimming pool, and that made me the happiest girl in London! Plus, the pool was so near my halls of residence! Now, I can go swimming oftennn! Yahooo! Anywaayy, back to today's story, I swam around, 10-15 laps kot. Entahla. I didn't really count. But what I know is that I roughly swam for one hour and 30 mins. Gila babun penat. Haihh.

FYI, right now, I am lying down on my bed in my duvet, with my head on my comfortable pillow, my face facing the laptop, and I'm typing with one hand. Why one hand? Because it takes too much energy to type with two hands. Seriously. I have no energy at all. Penat nak mampos.

But this is exactly what I need to make me happy. Yameen loves being tired. I was always tired in KYS (who wasn't???) because of the long hours of classes, hockey training, orchestra practice, drama practice, dance practice, macam-macam laa. During my days in Taylor's, I made myself tired by joining the Fearless Kicking Team. Everyday training from 7.30 to 11.30pm. I remember being so tired, there were times I drove back to Shah Alam fr SS15 without changing the gear at all, sebab tak larat. (Yeah, I love driving manual cars.) And now, I have found the perfect activity that can get me tired in London - SWIMMING. Thanx Zhixin. =0)

Yahoo! Okay. I nak relax now. SuperYameen needs her rest.

The Sun is Up Early Today!
My body clock is totally messed up. Nowadays I tend to sleep past 2.30am, and wake up around 9-ish. Then, I'll take an evening nap around 6-ish, which is after Isha', until about 9/10ish. My sleeping times are all over the place, I tell you. Haih.

Last night was the latest I've slept - 4am. Somehow I couldn't bring myself to sleep at all last night! I kept chatting online, sampai Aliaa pon was worried, asking bila I nak tido. =0P Thank God I managed to sleep at 4am, kalau tak I couldv'e stayed up the whole night - which Yameen does not like to do. No, no. Yameen needs her beauty sleep no matter what.

Anyway, when I woke up this morning, the day was already bright. I thought I was already late for class, because the Sun only comes up around 10/11ish during this winter season. I dah cuak dah! Then, I tengok jam, baru pukul 7.50am! I was like, wow! The Sun is early todayy! Yayyy! =0D

But then, the temperature today is worst than the previous days. This weather forecast software I downloaded is showing a temperature of -2 degrees celcius in London. Damm. I don't want it to be so cold. I want winter to be over!! Sejuklaaaaaa... =0(

It's days like these that make me miss Malaysia even more. I miss not having to worry about the temperature, because everyday will feel more or less the same. There may be the occasional cold rainy days, but even then the temperature will never drop below 20. Malaysia has the perfect climate. Rinduu.

Nevermind. This weather madness will be over soon. I know it.
