2006
This is not a continuation of the previous post. My UK tour with Ali will continue in the next posts. Btw, we are at OPU's place in Bristol. =0P

This is just a post to end the year 2006.

I kept this quote with me since early this year, to use it now. This is a quote taken from my favourite TV show, Ally McBeal, said by John Cage in one of his closings.

"If you think back and replay your year, if it doesn't bring you tears, either of joy or sadness, consider the year wasted."

I don't think my year was wasted. =0)

I'm hoping for a much better year though, because I don't think 2006 was my happiest year.

Well, Happy New Year everyone. Cheers.

Paris!
Believe it or not on the 23rd of December 2006, Ali and I went to Paris for a day trip!!!!!

AAAANNNDDDD, we met EIJAAAASSS!!!! YaaahhhhoooOooOoO!!!

Eijas actually made the effort to come to Paris and meet Ali and I at the very last minute. FYI, I haven't met Eijas since he came to France, which was somewhere in June 2005, and Eijas has no plans to go back to Malaysia during any holidays. So, meeting Eijas in Paris was such an 'event'! Ahahahahhahaha!!! Thank you Eijas, for coming to Parisssss...

Okay, back to the one-day-Paris-trip, Ali and I travelled on the ever-popular Eurostar. Travelling from London to Paris was indeed really short, only 2/3 hours -- kudos to today's technology! We arrived in Paris around 10am, and of course went straight to the Eiffel Tower. Thanx to Eijas and his French, we had no problem travelling to the Tower. It was really cool listening to Eijas speak in French, to the French. =0) Listening to those who learnt French in Malaysia isn't as cool as listening to Eijas speaking to the locals in France. Hahahhah!

Anyway, back to the tower, honestly I expected it to be bigger. =0P It seemed a tad small to me. Entahla. My expectations were high I guess. But it was indeed a splendid tower. The thought that it was built years ago when the technology wasn't that advanced, it was cool. The three of us of course went to the top of the tower. Ali and Eijas were kinda gayat =0P, but we survived!

After the tower, we went to some shopping place.. (Sorry, forgot the name.) We didn't really buy anything.... Just went window shoppingggg... The place was pretty thoughh.

Ali and I departed from Paris around 8pm, and safely arrived in London around 10-ish. Just in time to catch a tube back to our bedddssss... =0)

Conclusion of the day, Paris is indeed very reachable from London! =0)

Okay, enough with all the crap. Picturesssss....

Eurostarrr
First view of the Eiffel Tower
We were welcomed! =0)
Ali, Yameen and Eijas with the Eiffel Tower
Paris from high above. It was foggy...
Yameen, Eijas and Ali on top of the tower! =0)
Cool picture! Ali and Yameen's reflections on Eijas' sunniesss!!! Ahahahhaha!
Eijas goofing around....
Us with a good view of the tower. =0)
Cam-whoring in some shopping place. =0P
The streets of Paris at night!

A million thanx to Eijas for bringing Ali and I around. We would've drowned in the French crowd if we were alone. =0P

To be continued...

Second Day
Next stop - Greenwich.

To get to Greenwich, we had to take the London Underground, and then switch to the DLR, which stands for Docklands Light Railway. That was my first time on the DLR, and it is totally different from the London Underground! The train itself is different, and after searching on Wikipedia, I found out that the DLR has no driver, unlike the London Underground, and it has its own separate tracks.

Anywayyy, Ali and I actually went to Greenwich to ice-skate! Ahahaha! Check out the rink ---
Lawa kan?

Ynow, I just found out Greenwich is actually a nice tourist spot. Despite having the Greenwich Meridian Line there, it has a lot of nice buildings, and the supposedly popular ship - Cutty Sark. Quite menarik la the place. But Ali and I were there purposely to skate, so we didn't really 'visit' these places. Took a few pictures around the University of Greenwich, though.

We don't have pictures of us skating because cameras weren't allowed in the rink.. Sorryyy.. But after skating, we had scrumptious chocolate covered strawberries + puffs + donutss... Yuuummmmmm.....

Eh! One point has to be said here! I just found out that Ali was actually a FIGURE SKATERR!!! SERIOOOOOUUUSSS!! He actually could do all the turns and figure skating crap! He took classes when he was small.... Ahahhaahh!! =0)

Anywayyy, after having those scrumptious skewers, we walked to the Royal Observatory Greenwich, hoping to actually see the Greenich Meridian Line. But it was already around 5pm, so the observatory place was closed. But, we saw the line!! Check it out!

Coolies kan? They actually made the line come out like that at night! Coolies gile seeing the green line hanging in the air like that. Ahahhah!

After Greenwich, we went back to Central London, and we actually went to watch THE BLUE MAN GROUP!! Wahahahahhaha!!! Both Ali and I conclude the show to be interesting in a weird way.. Ahahha... Funny + weird + creative + weird + unique + weirdddd... Ahahahahahhaah!!! Anyway, we each got pictures with the Blue Man. Coolies. =0)

And that was a TIRING and SUPER FUN second dayyy..

To be continued..

London Eye

Ali arrived in London on Wednesday night! Yahoooo!!

And so, our London tour begins. =0)

Our first stop was the London Eye. As taken from Wikipedia - "The British Airways London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel, opened in 1999 and is the largest observation wheel (a type of Ferris wheel) in the world. It stands 135 metres (443 feet) high on the western end of Jubilee Gardens, on the South Bank of the River Thames in Lambeth, London, England, between Westminster and Hungerford Bridges."

It was great looking at London from a bird's eye view, but then yesterday was kinda foggy, so the view wasn't as great as it was supposed to be. But it was still nice, being several hundred feet up in the air, looking over London. =0)

Ali + Yameen with The London Eye in the background.
The London Eye
Ali + Yameen in the London Eye capsule.
A view of the Eye from inside the Eye Capsule..
Foggy London!
Bye bye London Eye!

After our flight in the London Eye, we jalan-jalan sampai nampak Big Ben! Hahahahhaa... Finally, this lil girl who has been in London for 3 months came to see the Big Ben. =0P

The Big Ben.
Me and The Ben.
Ali and The Ben.
We tried to fit in all three, but only The Ben and Ali managed to fit into the picture.. Bleeehhh.. =0P

After The Eye and The Ben, Opu called for us! Ali and I went to Oxford Street, met up with Opu and Omar, and Mudha, and Aisyah's brother. =0P Ali finally got to Oxford Street - THE Shopping Heaven. Ahhahaa... We didn't buy much, but Ali almost pengsan-ed. He will probably pengsan on Boxing Day. =0P

Okay, that was our first day.

To be continued.....

Girls + Martial Arts
On my skiing trip, two of the girls in the group had a black belt in Taekwondo. They were showing off how 'fit' they currently are, up to the point of challenging the boys to have a sit-up match. Most number of sit-ups in a minute wins. The girls somehow gained the last laugh, and the boys were surprised at the enthusiasm of the girls in this martial-arts area which was previously deemed to be a 'guy' thing.

Somehow the attention got drawn to me. Some of the guys started asking me what knowledge I had in this area. I did not participate in showing off how many sit-ups I could do, or 'used' to be able to do, for that matter.. =0P But I just told them I learnt kickboxing. I used to do it everyday.

Suddenly it hit me. I miss it. I miss the kicks. I miss the punches. I miss the studio. And most of all I miss the people. You guys know who you are.

They're having another record breaking event soon. Wish you all the best. If only I could be involved. Miss you guys too much.

GoGo!!!!
I'm baaacccckkkK!!!!!

Not really in the mood to elaborate much about my ski trip, but one point must be said -
IT WAS SUPER-DUPER-TRUPER-BEDUPER FUN AND SERONOKKKKK!!!!!

Can't believe I actually skied in the mountains.

Lukman, I went to Val D'Isere. Next year, you bring me to Tignes or sumwhere else okeehh? =0)

Btw, to explain the title of the post. GoGo is my Ski instructor's name. Well, his nickname actually. No, I'm not head over heels for him because he's a young hot skier or anything. It's just that I think him being my instructor made things so much better because he was sooo much fun! =0)

One more thing. The journey to Val D'Isere was long and tiring. We had to take a bus from Central London to the London Luton airport, which was roughly an hour bus journey. Then we had to take a plane to Geneva, which was around one hour 45 mins. Then another bus from Geneva to Val D'Isere, which was robably 3/4 hours long. And because of the many transfers, I now have FOUR currencies in my hand. Malaysian Ringgit, Sterling Pounds, Euros, and Swiss Francs. Coolies kan? Ahahha!

Okay. Pictures-----

With City MSoc's President right after landing in Geneva, Switzerland.
My first view of snow!!!
Playing in the snow with Zijian and Seng Honnn!!!

The group!
Our last night with GoGo!
Another picture with GoGo!
Another picture of GoGo's crazinesss!! =0P
The City gang in the Snowww!
In Geneva on the way back! A picture with a glowy person..

I had a lot of fun. Now that I'm not a beginner anymore, Klil and Luk, you guys should bring me skiing with you! Maybe I'll try snowboarding pulak. =0)

Cuti.
Most of the blogs which I have linked in the side bar haven't been updated for quite sometime. Well, with the exception of Opu's blog of course, because her blog is updated by a pretty friend while she's in Romania. Ahah! Anyway, I think they haven't been updated because the owners of those blogs are mostly on holidays! Ada yang pergi Indon la, Thailand la, macam2 laa.

So, the purpose of this post is to tell you readers that I'm gonna be on holiday too. I will be in France from the 9th until 16th of December, SKIING! So, tak payahla check whether I've updated this blog in that week, coz I don't think I'll have time to update.

I'll update this blog after the trip, aight? So, see ya next week after I've gone skiing!!!! WooOoOHHhHHHOooOOooO!!!!

THE song.
You know whenever people get emotionally challenged, they tend to feel that every single 'emotional' song seems to capture their emotional situation perfectly in the lyrics?

Well, I found the 'prefect situation describing' song for my current feelings.

Listen to the lyrics. It's perfect.
"In my reach,
I can see
There's a life out there for me"

Now, I only need that takoyaki pan to figure out how to make takoyakis.

OMG. Now I miss Beard Papa's cream puffs.

Those in Malaysia, go to One Utama (old wing) - the Jusco Supermarket Level, yang kat bawah tu. Go buy the vanilla Beard Papa's cream puff yang depan Jusco tu, then buy takoyaki yang sebelah the cream puff stall tu. Sedap dowwwhhh..

The Prestige

The Prestige is a sick movie.

The Prestige has Hugh Jackman who is soooo hot.

The Prestige is a wacko movie.

The Prestige has Christian Bale yang gile menakutkan.

The Prestige is again, a sick movie.

Nonetheless, The Prestige is a MUST WATCH MOVIE.

It really is a great movie.

I salute the writer.

Is it from a book? Can I have the origial book? Not the book that's gonna be written based on this movie, the book that is used to write the movie.

I pity you guys in Malaysia, because I don't think the movie is gonna come out there. Go download it from somewhere, or get a DVD ciplak. I'll emphasise this again -

The Prestige is a MUST WATCH MOVIE.
