The Oldies..
The term 'oldies' refers to my two old friends; Lukman and Nabil to be specific. Don't get me wrong; the term doesn't literally mean 'old people', because they are definitely not old, even though Lukman's hair may say so. =0P 'Oldies' is just a term I use to refer to these two, mainly because they are so far my oldest best friends; oldest by the terms of the years they've been my besties, and not their age.

Note to Luk : This entry is definitely a 'jiwang' one. =0P

Nabil and Luk left me here in Malaysia last year when they went to Russia and France respectively, 'konon-kononnye' to further their education. =0P So, yesterday was the first time the three of us spent time together after around one year being far apart. We did nothing much, just went to Low Yat to buy a new phone for Lukman. Obviously I had no expertise in that area, so I was merely just a 'teman'. Being a teman for these two may well be a tragic experience, especially since the assigned driver has forgotten how to drive smoothly, and the one giving directions weren't really concentrating on giving directions. =0P Ape2 pon, we managed to reach Low Yat safely, and found a great phone for Luk. Me and Nabil managed to convert Luk from a Nokia person to a Sony Ericsson lad. Teehee!

Actually, I want to point out that only after spending time with them do I realise how much I've missed them. Come to think of it, I've only been their classmate for 2 years, which was in 1998 and 1999. That was a long time ago, and I dont think two years can really be enough to build a strong friendship with someone, kan? I never thought I'll still be close to them even though I've been in KYS for 5years after primary school. They are actually the only ones I'm stil close to since I moved to a boarding school. Well, ape2 pon, we have known each other for nine years already, and I am glad that it's not awkward lepak-ing with them even though I was in Melaka most of those nine years. =0)

Friends will definitely come and go throughout our lives. I'm glad these two brats aren't sick of me yet, and I hope they'll never be. =0)

Stop laughing. I told you this entry was a jiwang one. =0P

Opu : THE ENEMY
Apparently Opu and I always fight. And I dont mean fight as in 'gaduh'. We have physical fights, but we love each other sooo much, kan Opu?? =0) Anyways, early this year (I think) both of us fought in mid-air dekat OU. They had this Kungfu Hustle promo for Chinese New Year, and we had the chance to be in mid-air and fight each other! That was sooo much fun!! Here's a picture taken by Zaza using Opu's fone, so disregard the quality, or the lack of it. =0P

Recently, around a few weeks ago, me and Opu had another chance to beat each other up. This one took place dekat Cineleisure, and we had props. Hahaa. Here's a video of us. =0P

I believe there will be a next time. Opu, be prepareddd!!! Muahahahahaaa!!!

PCD Live in Malaysia!
I went to their 'performance' last night. Can't really consider it as a 'concert' because it was practically only 45mins to one hour long. =0P The fact that it was short was quite a disappointment. Bur fear not, I still had a blast! Probably because I havent been to a concert for so long - the last one I went to was Mariah Carey in 2004. And also probably because I had great company around me. =0) The people around me helped me make the show into a blastt!!

Before the 'concert', I had to do a demo on kickboxing in UM from 5 to 7pm. Since the performance was to start at 8pm, I rushed from UM to Subang, driving like a mad woman! Well, actually I didn't 'rush' because I was stuck in traffic. I lalu federal highway. =0P Mind you, me and Pao (who was also in the car wth me) wasnt sure of any other way to Subang, so we took the federal highway to avoid being lost finding some other highway. Blekk.

Anyways, my rushing was useless. Once I met teddy there, instead of going inside, we had to wait for some other people because teddy had around thirteen tickets with him, and obviously those thirteen tickets weren't for me n teddy alone. =0P Because of the wait, we missed Reshmonu's opening performance, which was okay because i ddnt really want to watch Reshmonu anyways. But the waiting part was killing me, coz I didnt want to miss any part of PCD's performance, of course! So eventually, I went in with Nad, Manje, Attashien, Diyanah and her friends once they arrived, leaving teddy to wait for Rezza n Danish alone. Kesiann Teddyy.. =0P

Must I say, our timing was great. A few minutes after kitorang sampai the stage area, Reshmonu went off the stage. While waiting for PCD to come out, we all had to squeez through the crowd to get to where Opu and Mars were. But of course that wasn't easy. Eventually, we weren't able to move anymore because we had a bunch of pissed off people around us and I ddnt really want to piss them off more. =0P So we were stuck in the middle of the crowd when PCD came out. It was terribly hard for me to get a glimpse of them on stage, or even them on the big screen because I am obviously short. It is at these moments that I hoped to be taller. =0P After a few songs, Nad decided to go to the back, to meet Mars n Opu there. Lucky for me, the view from the back was so much better than where we were from. It was easier for a shorty to watch from the back. Heheee.

Eventually, we met Opu n Mars, and all the others including Redzuan, Teddy, Rezza, Danish, Nico.... With them around, it was so much easier for me to enjoy the show. =0) I met Leez and Zizi in the crowd, and I must point out I havent met them for sooo long. It was nice seeing familiar faces around, I must say. =0)

Anyways, PCD ended their performance in such an abrupt way. We were all shocked! The performance was too short laa. Well, they probably ddnt have much songs to perform anyway.. Ntahla. Oh well, I am not that disappointed though. I still had fun. =0) Let's just say my 'concert mood' hasnt really worn off yet. And because of that I will definitely enjoy my next concert, whenever that will be!

Thanx to Opu, here are a few pictures of us crazy ppl at Sunway Lagoon's Surf Beach. And we were having funnn!!!

Assalamualaikum.
Ops sorry to comment about them in here.. =p!

THE Pussycat Dolls may have gone home, but the fur is still flying!

The concert organisers, Absolute Entertainment, may find themselves in hot water after incurring the wrath of Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim, over the girls’ eye-popping attire and sexy antics during their concert at Sunway Lagoon last month.

If Rais has his way, the organisers could find themselves slapped with a fine for indecent behaviour!

When contacted yesterday, Rais confirmed that he would recommend that the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) charge the organiser with indecency for the concert....... "
[source : MalayMail 09/08/06]

It's only because of their appearance yg i rasa tidak sesuai with our culture in Malaysia.

From wut i heard there's garis panduan yang telah ditetapkan by government for artists (& local artist pun)if if they want to do the performances..

* my opinion : masuk kandang kambing mengembek la kan? masuk malaysia, ikut la culture rakyat msia kan? sensitivity tu kena jaga...

Nelly Furtado - Loose

I was never a fan of Nelly Furtado, but somehow her latest song 'Maneater' managed to make me buy her latest album, Loose. Hahaa..

The album is not that 'hot' nor is it that 'bad'. Nelly has changed from her previous songs. Now, it's less folk-y and more modern, I guess. Syok la juga dengar album ni..

Actually the purpose I wrote this entry is to let you guys know, that Te Busque is my current favourite song. The Spanish chorus just makes it soo much hotter than other songs.. Hahaa..I malas nak letak the song here. So, pi la download. All I can put here is the lyrics. =0P

Te Busque
Nelly Furtado featuring Juanes

I've been high I've been low
I've been fast I've been slow
I've had nowhere to go
Missed the bus missed the show
I've been down on my luck
I've felt like giving up
My life locked in a trunk
When it hurt way too much

I needed a reason to live
Some love inside me to give
I couldn't rest I had to keep on searching

Te busque de bajo de las piedras y no te encontre
En la manana fria y en la noche te-busque
Hasta enloquecer
Pero tu llegaste a mi vida como una luz
Sanando las heridas de mi corazon
Haciendo me-sentir vivo otra vez

I've been too sad to speak and too tired to eat
Been too lonely to sing the devil cut off my wings
I've been hurt by my past but I feel the future
In my dreams and it lasts I wake up I'm not sure

I wanted to find the light something just didn't feel right
I needed an answer to end all my searching

Te busque de bajo de las piedras y no te encontre
En la manana fria y en la noche te-busque
Hasta enloquecer
Pero tu llegaste a mi vida como una luz
Sanando las heridas de mi corazon
Haciendo me-sentir vivo otra vez

I look in the mirror the picture's getting clearer
I wanna be myself but does the world really need her
I ache for this earth I stopped going to church
See God in the trees makes me fall to my knees
My depression keeps building like a cup overfilling
My heart so rigid I keep it in the fridge
It hurts so bad that I can't dry my eyes
Cuz they keep on refillin' with the tears that I cry...

Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie KinsellaIn Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner
Two more books read in the holidays. =0) And, they are both 'chick-lits'. Told you the next book won't be another serious John-Grisham-y book. Hahaa.

CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC by Sophie Kinsella

"Rebecca Bloomwood just hit rock bottom. But she's never looked better....Becky Bloomwood has a fabulous flat in London's trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the season's must-haves. The only trouble is that she can't actually afford it — not any of it. Her job writing at Successful Savings not only bores her to tears, it doesn't pay much at all. And lately Becky's been chased by dismal letters from Visa and the Endwich Bank — letters with large red sums she can't bear to read — and they're getting ever harder to ignore. She tries cutting back; she even tries making more money. But none of her efforts succeeds. Becky's only consolation is to buy herself something ... just a little something....Finally a story arises that Becky actually cares about, and her front-page article catalyzes a chain of events that will transform her life — and the lives of those around her — forever. Sophie Kinsella has brilliantly tapped into our collective consumer conscience to deliver a novel of our times — and a heroine who grows stronger every time she weakens. Becky Bloomwood's hilarious schemes to pay back her debts are as endearing as they are desperate. Her "confessions" are the perfect pick-me-up when life is hanging in the (bank) balance."

I mainly read this book because everybody else read it in school. Hahaa. I remember the days when all you girls would take turns reading this book, and other books written by this author for that matter. Whose book was it anyway? It seemed to be in evrybody's hands, so I never knew whose book it relly was in the first place. Initially, I wanted to be included in this book's 'reading-circle', but apparently everyone was borrowing it, and my turn never came. Oh well, now I've read it. Teehee.

And I agree with you guys, it is definitely a hilarious book. Becky is a true shopaholic!! I never knew a person is capable to be addicted to shopping like that! Crazy. It's a cute book. Kinsella wrote it well. It was really hard to put down; I couldn't stop reading it, even when I was sleepy!

I never thought I would read a 'pink' book. Well, "chick-lit" was never a genre I would consider to be included in my book collection. But this book is exactly what I needed this hols. I needed humour and laughter, and it gave me just that.

IN HER SHOES by Jennifer Weiner

"Rose Feller is thirty; a successful lawyer with high hopes of a relationship with Jim, Mr Not-Quite-Right, a senior partner in her firm. The last thing she needs is her messed-up, only occasionally employed sister Maggie moving in: drinking, smoking, stealing her money - and her shoes - and spoiling her chance of romance. If only Maggie would grow up and settle down with a nice guy and a steady job. Maggie is drop dead gorgeous and irresistible to men. She's going to make it big as a TV presenter, or a singer...or an actress. All she needs is a lucky break. What she doesn't need is her uptight sister Rose interfering in her life. If only Rose would lighten-up, have some fun - and learn how to use a pair of tweezers. Rose and Maggie think they have nothing in common but a childhood tragedy, shared DNA and the same size feet, but they are about to find out that they're more alike than they'd ever believe."

This next book is actually my mums. And that's why I read it. I found it lying there on my mums desk, I asked whether she was reading it, she told me she was done with it, and that's how I came to read this book. Hahaa.

This book is actually already made into a movie. That's why the book has Cameron Diaz as its cover. Aliaa (Apai's girlfriend) actually brought over the DVD when I was half way through the book, but I refused to watch it. Simply because I wanted to finish the book without knowing its ending, and also because I expect the movie to shorter than the book because a lot of scenes might be taken out from the book. =0P

All in all, the book is basically about girl-sibling rivalry, something I would never be able to relate to basically because I have no 'girl-sibling'. Hahaa. But still, the book was nice. It isn't as 'chick-lit' as the book I mentioned up there. This one talks more seriously about family relations and such. And the ending was touching. Schweeetttt endingg at a weddinggg...... Haahaaa.. Okay, I dah start merapu dah.

So I'll stop my chick-lit blabbering here before I merapu banyak lagi. Taaa.

Latest Obsession : The OC
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Nowadays I don't really go out because most of those who were on their Winter holidays are back in Australia or New Zealand, added with the fact that those here in Malaysia are back in school, plus the fact that those on Summer holidays aren't back yet. So, I had to find something to keep me occupied during the day. And lucky me, Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of The OC were lying there on my desk, waiting to be watched. And so I did, even though I've actually watched Seasons 1 & 2 last year, thanks to Ali. Now that I've completed everything, I can officially say that I love The OC. Well, Seth Cohen to be exact. =0P

The OC seems like a cool place to live in. Ynow, with all the 'parties' and 'dramas' and 'Seth' etc etc. Hahaa.. Okay okay.. I know Seth is quirky and dorky and whatever, but he's cute in his own way. And I think he looks cuter with Summer by his side. They look sooo cute together. Ynow, when Zach came into the picture, I was sooooo frustrated. I know Zach is like a perfect hubby material guy, but I still preferred Seth to him. Blek. Well, nasib baik everything turned out okay.. Teehee..

I malas nak merepek banyak pasal the show. You guys should watch it. Hahaa. But, I may want to point out that I have two favourite characters in the show. =0)

SETH COHEN

JOHN HARPER a.k.a JOHNNY

I also have One Tree Hill waiting for me. That will probably be my next obsession, if I ever start watching it. ;0) Whatever it is, Orange County rocks. It's the only place where you can have tremendous fun with both adults and children in wonderful clothes as shown in the pic below. Hahaa!!

World Cup Fever
Lukman, now you have something to read about. =0P

FYI, I have never been a football fan, I've never even cared about football. I've never felt the urge to watch a game, and I never thought I would anyway. When I used to be in KYS and it was football season, I've occasionally tried to avoid going to the cafeteria, because all the guys will be screaming and shouting towards twelve monkeys chasing around a ball hoping to get it in that huge 'net', and believe me, that's not a pretty view. I've even avoiding conversations about football with anyone, purposely because I don't know anything about football and the topic is just not interesting to me.

But thanx to Opu, I watched my first ever football game last night. And mind you, I did not watch it in the comfort of my home or anyone's home; I watched it in a public place where the sole reason people gathered there was to watch the game. I watched the semi-finals match between France and Portugal in Hartamas Square, and I had a GREAT time. =0D

Maybe one of the reasons I actually had a great time was because the team I was rooting for actually won themselves a place in the finals. Let me put that in a proper sentence for my dear friend Lukman -- France beat Portugal with a score of 1-0. Muahahaaaa! And FYI since I know nothing about football, here are the reasons I chose to be on France's side :
  1. My younger brother has always been a loyal fan to Arsenal and Thierry Henry was sorta-kinda his idol.
  2. Most of the people around me that night were rooting for France. =0P
  3. I actually have friends in France, non in Portugal. HOWEVER, little did I know that one of my 'dear friends' who is over there is a supporter for Portugal. Well, boo-hoo to you, Lukman. Hahaa.

Despite the fact that France won, I had a great time last night mostly because of the fans around me. All the shouting and boo-ing and cheering made the whole thing interesting. I figured, if I were to watch the game at home, I could have dozed off once the game reached its 15th minute! But because of those football fans in Hartamas Square last night, I stayed awake and alert throughout the whole game. Everytime either team came near to scoring a goal, my heart skipped a beat just because evryone else's heart skipped a beat as well. That's how intense my first footbal experience was.

Opu, thanx for bringing me to watch the game. I am definitely following you to watch the finals nanti.

Lukman, the war is on!!

I went to Pangkor last weekend. Then, as soon as I came back, I headed back north to Ipoh. Then after balik, I spent the rest of the week helping Tania for tomorrow's event which I will probably talk about later. Busy. Busy.

Anyways since I have time to post something now, lemme fill you in on the details about my week. =0) I went to Pangkor for a Kickboxing Camp. It was good to go to the beach and just chilll.... Dah lame I tak pi beach.. Well actually dah lame I tak pi holiday pon. So Pangkor was a good start for my holidays. We had loadz of fun. =0)

Kru taught us some knee and elbow techniques which look really cool. But the best part about all this was that we got to the knees by the beach and the elbows actually in the sea. Syok gile training kat beach! We had the not-so-hot sun to give us the perfect atmosphere, the superb sound of the waves hitting against the sand, the not-so-crowded beach that ensured each of us ample space to punch and kick... Syok dooohhh.... Hahaa..

Anyways, our trip was only for two days. Even though it was sooo short, I spent every time I can to enjoy the beach. I embraced the salty water, enjoyed the waves pushing and pulling me back and forth, and sometimes I just sat in the sand and enjoyed the ambience of the beach. That was exactly what I needed after my exams. Superb.

All in all, Pangkor was cool. I went with a fun batch of people, so there wasn't any moment of boredom. I wouldn't change a thing about Pangkor. I wouldn't change a thing.

Okay, enough with Pangkor. Before I could get rid of my 'car-lag' from my trip to Pangkor, I was back on the North-South highway, heading towards Perak again. Apai and I were heading to Ipoh, our kampung, to spend quality time with Atok and Puan. (FYI, I call my grandmother Puan.) That was the first time we went to our grandparents' without our parents present. So, it was kinda weird for two reasons. Firstly, i had to spend two hours in the car with Apai. =0P Secondly, both of us were gonna be at our grandparents with Atok and Puan only.

Initially, I had no idea what to do in Ipoh. Usually when we go back there with other relatives present, I slalu ber-gossip dengan the adults -- my parents, aunties, and uncles included. For this trip, takkan I nak bergossip ngan my grandparents kot? Hehee... Macam kelakarr.. So ynow what we did? Me and Apai actually spent quality time with them. We got to know our grandparents a little bit more, and at the same time they also learned stuff about us. The time spent there with only Apai is different from the time spent with all the other relatives.

Plus, Puan gave me a present and some advice about my future husband. =0P She gave me a ring, and told me to find a 'calon suami' while studying and not wait until I start working. She also told me to avoid foreigners and also Malaysians from the east coast - Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang. I asked her why and you know what she answered? "Susah nanti nak pi visit kat sana. Jauh sangat." Hahaa!! Adeke! Funny la my grandmother.

I enjoyed my stay in Ipoh. It was cool to spend time with my grandparents. =0)
